Dorothy Demarest, Professional Registered Parliamentarian and N.A.P.L.E.S. board member, served as the Chairman Pro-tem for the Governing Council of US Figure Skating held in Costa Mesa. CA on April 30th and May 1st. Bylaw amendments, skating rules changes, and elections were just a small part of the two day business meeting.

Twenty percent of the delegates to the meeting consist of professional athletes many of whom are National and Olympic champions. The athletes presented Dorothy with an autographed thank you card. During the fund raising dinner held by the athletes to support up and coming skaters Dorothy was seated at the VIP table with the executive director and president of US Figure Skating along with the keynote speaker, Tara Lupinski, the youngest skater ever to receive an Olympic gold medal.
